Cork Golf Club overview

Founded in 1888, Cork Golf Club is steeped in history. Situated in the idyllic Cork Harbour, the club has hosted many major amateur and Professional Championships over the years including the Irish Open. Built on free-draining limestone, the course presents a crisp heath-like playing surface similar to links and offers magnificent views throughout the property.

Golf Course at Cork Golf Club

The layout at Cork golf club boasts fantastic sweeping greens and beautifully maintained fairways so it is not hard to believe that this golf course was the work of the same person responsible for the classic Augusta National Golf Course. Alister Mackenzie pulled out all the stops to create a flowing golf course like no other in the region. Cork golf course is not the longest of tracks but the water that comes into play, plus the narrow fairways, makes this a tough golf course to master, but also one that players of all levels will come to enjoy.
