Very good break upto the last evening where the meal was that slow we had to call for the manager. We had booked a table for 6 along time before the break for 8pm our starters arrived at 9.05 which we had to ask why it was so slow. We thought that having complained the main course would be quicker but it did not arrive until 9.50 by this time we had called for the general manager who apologised but it did not make it right. I know we had some extra drinks and discount from our account but it should not happen.

An excellent weekend at The Abbey - good facilities and excellent service and the food was really good.

However, this feeling was slightly tempered by the long wait between our main courses and the desserts. I know the restaurant was busy at this time (Saturday evening) but there's really no excuse.

The only other minor quibble was my shower, which worked fine on Saturday evening but provided no hot water on the Sunday morning. I did not follow this up as I was pushed for time.

Overall, a great time had by all.
