The Royal Hua Hin was opened in 1924 which makes it Thailand's first golf course. Interestingly, the course was designed by Scottish railway engineer A.O. Robbins and therefore has characteristics of a traditional British golf course.
18 holes, 72 par, 6678 yards. Links.
The Royal Hua Hin is Thailand's oldest championship golf course and certainly is a real gem. The course is moderately challenging and has a selection of well-placed bunkers and features a number of tricky dog legs. When playing the par 4 13th see if you can spot the macaque monkeys that might be enjoying the nearby vegetation. Also, be sure to take in your surroundings during your round as the course boasts superb views of the Gulf of Thailand and the city centre from a number of holes.
The golf course is ideally located and is only 5 minutes from downtown and Hua Hin, also, it is surrounded by the top hotels Hua Hin has to offer, making it an extremely accessible golf course.
