Explore the mountain ranges of the French Alps

Although the French Alps is definitely known more for its skiing opportunities than its golf opportunities, don’t be fooled, there are some really great courses to be played in this tranquil region of France that make a golf holiday in the French Alps so valuable. The French Alps burst with life in the summer months and the golf courses really do shine, plus great deals on both accommodation and restaurants/bars can be found as it is the low season for skiers.

Experience mountain golf on a golf holiday in the French Alps

As you may imagine, playing golf in the French Alps isn’t the easiest of tasks and this is mainly down to the absolutely stunning scenery and landscapes making it hard to concentrate! You may be thinking the French Alps is really only suitable for skiing, however, there exists an array of unique golfing gems just waiting to be discovered.

Evian Resort Golf Club is a prime example of what the French Alps has to offer golfers. A yearly host of the Evian Masters Tournament on the WPGA TOUR, the course is full of charm and some of the scenery on offer, while you play, is astonishing, and it becomes easy to see why this course hosts one of the largest tournaments in women’s golf.

Golf de Divonne is another top course in the French Alps, located a mere 10mins from Lake Geneva. Originally built in 1931 this parkland course has seen many notable players enjoy its great surroundings such as Seve Ballesteros. The course is unusual in the sense that it has six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s, making it possibly the most well-balanced golf course we offer!

Stay in some of the world’s most exclusive resorts

When it comes to accommodation, you can be assured that there is something for everyone. We recommend Hotel Ermitage Evian Resort. A relaxed friendly hotel with fantastic on-site golf, it is the perfect base for an enjoyable golf holiday in the French Alps. The hotel has 2 fantastic restaurants, 'La Table' and 'La Biblioteque' serving authentic recipes by their famous chef. The spa facilities which are found at the 'Spa Maison les 4 Terres' are fabulous and offer clients the ability to rediscover balance and tranquillity. For families, there is an extensive kid's resort with activities to keep them occupied for days on end in the large abundant parks with the stunning views over Lake Geneva.

Similarly, its sister hotel, Royal Evian Resort, ideally situated on the southern shore of Lake Geneva, is perfect for your golf holiday, being one of the most exclusive resorts in the world. Surrounded by 47 acres of parkland with majestic trees, the resort not only offers one of the best golf courses in Europe, but a casino, 2 spas, a unique training centre, a kid's resort and a host of sporting facilities.
