Golfbreaks Pairs terms & conditions

These terms & conditions relate specifically to Golfbreaks amateur pairs events and sit alongside the Golfbreaks privacy policy.

Golfbreaks amateur pairs events - refers to events organised and managed by Golfbreaks, which as a customer you pay to play golf on a specific date(s) at a designated venue which we facilitate on your behalf.

Promotions Golfbreaks reserves the right to launch promotions throughout the year, which may introduce added benefits or discounts when customers enter Golfbreaks events within a fixed promotional period.

All promotions offered are applicable to a limited number and are subject to availability at all times.

Any discounted rate reduction will not exceed 20% of the standard advertised entry price.

Promotional offers will only be advertised when we reach a stage of limited availability at the event in question. Golfers entering on a promotional rate will likely be offered early morning tee times (between 0730-0850) or late afternoon tee times (1400-1530)

Event entry

All bookings and prices advertised on our events pages are per person.

Bookings can be made by filling in the enquiry form on the event home page, which is followed up by a member of our events team or by calling +447703713958 where a Golfbreaks Events team member can process your entry.

Full payment is required to confirm entry. Payment methods to enter Golfbreaks events are the same as booking a golf break and can be found HERE.

Golfbreaks reserve the right to amend event entry prices. Customers are asked to pay the per person price advertised at the point of booking. We will not ask you to pay more if prices go up, and we will not provide refunds or credit should prices be reduced.

Entry for adults is open to golfers of all abilities with mixed pairs more than welcome as well as golfers who represent different golf clubs. Golfers aged between 14-18 can enter as long as they are partnered with an adult golfer (18+)

You can enter as a single golfer and the Golfbreaks events team will endeavour to pair you up with another individual golfer, a member of the hosting venue, or if neither of these options is available, you can play as a single with a ghost player alongside another pair in your fourball.

Cancellation Policy

Due to fixed promotion, administration and management costs associated with hosting an event, there are cancellation charges we must apply based on the total entry fee of the respective event. We certainly strive to be as fair and understandable as possible around cancellations with the following cancellation guidelines in place:

More than 90 days prior to an event starting – full refund less £15.00 per person administration fee

31-90 days before the event – 50% refund applicable with administration fee taken from cancellation charge

30 Days or less — no refund applicable

  • Dates are taken from the first day of the event.
  • In all scenarios, you can transfer the entry into another person’s name without charge.
  • Cancel a booking by contacting [email protected].

Amending a booking

Golfbreaks do not charge for amendments to event bookings outside of any cancellations charges applicable as explained above should your total number of event attendees be reduced. There is no charge for increasing the number of event entrees.

Payment options:

• All customers have the option of paying a £35.00 deposit per person to secure entry into their preferred event. The final balance will be due 6 weeks before the respective event date and you will be sent a balance reminder via email. Please note that the same cancellation refund terms apply to a deposit payment • Customers can redeem breakpoints and Golfbreaks vouchers against entry into any Golfbreaks amateur event

Pre-event information and important communications

The Golfbreaks events team will contact you approximately 3 weeks before the event to start gathering the information relevant to the event.

Competitor details will be entered into our live scoring system, which is used for allocating tee times, live scoring on the day and displaying results on the leader board and post-event communications.

Tee times: When you confirm entry into a Golfbreaks event you will be asked to give a tee time preference. Please be aware that although we endeavour to give all entries as close to their preferred time as possible this cannot be guaranteed.

We reserve the right to provide a tee time up to 4 hours on either side of your chosen time and ask that all entrants make provisions for this possibility. Golfbreaks are not liable for refunds on the basis that providing a tee time within these parameters is deemed not suitable for the entrant. Tee sheet subject to change within daylight hours.

Dress code: We will provide details on the event welcome email relating to dress codes at the host venue. If in any doubt, please check the host venue website.

Golfbreaks are committed to fulfilling all amateur event as advertised, however in the unlikely scenario that we are required to make changes due to factors out of our control, we will contact all entrants to notify of these changes made and protect the right of the entrant to a credit or refund should the changes determine that you no longer wish to attend.

Event day

Headline prizes and goodie bags will be as advertised. Prizes can not be exchanged for other Golfbreaks products or cash value.

The stated value of prizes and goodies advertised are based upon the supplier's RRP.

Prize winners are liable for postage & packaging costs on any physical prizes awarded on the day which the eventual winner does not stay to receive after completing the round.

Handicap certificates:

Some golf clubs insist on players having a handicap certificate. Should an event hosting club require a handicap certificate this will be clearly highlighted on the event landing page.

You are permitted to take part in our events without a formal handicap, but each event has two competitions with a dedicated live leader board:

  1. Official CONGU WHS handicaps – You can find out the detail on acquiring an official WHS handicap HERE.
  2. Golfshake Handicaps. – You can sign up for a Golfshake handicap at no cost HERE.

Please note that both members of a pair must compete in the same competition. You will be asked to choose which on registration.

Please note that there will be prizes awarded in both competitions, however, the headline prize will be awarded to the winning pair competing in the official CONGU WHS handicap competition.

Please note that WHS Handicap Indexes will be used across all Golfbreaks events. You can find the Index of the event host course HERE.

Prize Verification All prize winners will be contacted no later than 24 hours after the event has closed and will be required to provide a valid form of photo identification (Passport or Drivers License) within the following 24 hours to be verified by the Golfbreaks Events Team. Due to prizes being golf holidays and golf breaks this is standard practice for travel.

If a form of photo identification for both players has not been submitted within 24 hours, the prize winners will be contacted by phone and given a further 24 hours to respond. In the event of the prize winners do not respond to the contact made by the Golfbreaks Events Team they will automatically be disqualified from the event and the prize will be given to the next highest placed pair.

Prize winners will also be asked to provide their full name, golf club, handicap and CDH number to be verified by England Golf.

On course competitions

Golfbreaks may decide to run on course competitions at our amateur events, designed to enhance the event experience for participants.

Golfers will be informed whether the on-course competition is free or pay to enter and the golfer reserves the right to decide whether they wish to take part.

All prizes awarded for on-course competitions carry the same conditions as overall event prizes.
