About the Solheim Cup
After the inaugural Cup was held in 1990, Team USA dominated proceedings before the turn of the century. However, Team Europe has come fighting back, with their most famous win coming at Loch Lomond, the last time the matches were played on the British Isle.
USA legend Juli Inkster reinvigorated the American team, with their tight victory in 2015 being the closest Solheim Cup since its inception.
In 2019, this was no exception with Europe winning for the first time since 2013 after an incredible finish to the final day singles, which ended with Suzann Pettersen holing the decisive putt on the 18th green, sending thousands of fans into raptures.
