Luffness New Golf Club
Edinburgh & East Lothian, Scotland
Luffness New Golf Club overview
Luffness New Golf Course overview
A par-70 and measuring just over 6500 yards off the tips, Luffness New is challenging without being long. Having said that, it can be very tough when the wind blows down the Firth of Forth. Straight hitters will not find too much to trouble them, however, those that wander will be punished by thick rough and strategically placed bunkers. The greens are small and amongst the truest in the area, therefore Luffness New rewards the virtues of accuracy and patience.
Consistently ranked amongst Scotland’s top 50 golf courses, with qualifying rounds held here when the Open Championship is at Muirfield.
Signature Holes
The 3rd hole is a tough par-3 at 196 yards and depending on the wind it can be anything from a 7-iron to a 3-iron. There’s no respite at the next either, which is a tough par-5 at 531 yards.
