Punta Espada Golf Club is located in Punta Cana is part of the Cap Cana Resort, however, it remains open to the public for play. A beautiful oceanfront golf course, this Jack Nicklaus design has been wowing visitors since opening for play in late 2006.
Golfers who experience Punta Espada will not only find an amazing 18-hole golf course but also a great clubhouse that houses the Punta Espada Bar and Restaurant; offering a superb setting with views of the 18th green and the Caribbean Sea. The club also has a well-stocked pro-shop and excellent practice facilities.

Since opening in 2006, Punta Espada has received an abundance of praise for both its stunning views and course layout. Jack Nicklaus, the famed golfer and course designer, left his lasting impression on the Caribbean with this meticulous and detailed creation, crafting a 7,396-yard beauty (from the tips) that has played host to the Champions Tour’s Cap Cana Championship on numerous occasions.
Incorporating the natural coastal topography such as cliffs, beaches, and lagoons into its design, Nicklaus successfully intertwined challenging golf and jaw-dropping beauty in this par-72 layout, with none other than eight oceanfront holes.

The Cap Cana Championship for the Champions Tour was first played at Punta Espada in 2008. The first iteration of the event was won by Mark Wiebe.
