The Open Championship 2021

Thu Jul 15 2021 - Sun Jul 18 2021

The Open Championship returns to Royal St George’s again in 2021 for the 15th time, the last occasion being in 2011 when Darren Clarke picked up his memorable first major win. Located in the South East of England (2 hours from London) Royal St George’s is a links course through and through. Known for its towering sand dunes, tight undulating fairways and secluded location along Sandwich Bay, it promises to provide the perfect arena for the 149th Open Championship. The 149th Open Venue - Royal St George's

Ranked by Top 100 Courses as the 23rd best golf course in the world, 8th best in the UK and 1st in England, Royal St George’s is renowned for its sheer quality and history, and for good reason. Its large natural sand dunes are unrivalled by any other links, the fairways are undulating and narrow, and the 40-foot bunker on the 4th hole is one of the largest in golf. Not to mention that it has hosted more Open Championships than any other course in England.

The last time out at Royal St George’s, in 2011, Darren Clarke held his nerve to see off Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson by three clear shots to win his first major in what was a classic links encounter. The wet and windy contest played perfectly into the Irishman’s hands and we expect more of the same in 2021. Will we have another Northern Irish winner or will Kent see its first American winner since 2011…needless to say, Royal St George’s promises to host a prestigious and dramatic affair.
