Overview of The Monument
The Monument Course at Boyne Mountain Resort is a tribute to the game of golf, with each hole dedicated to a legendary player or architect. Designed to challenge and inspire, this championship course features rolling fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding northern Michigan landscape and Deer Lake.
Designed by a collaborative team led by Bill Newcomb, the course stretches to 7,086 yards from the back tees, while offering several forward teeing options for golfers of all skill levels. Generous fairways allow for aggressive play off the tee, while strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens require precision on approach shots. Although The Monument has not hosted a professional PGA TOUR event, it has been a venue for high-level amateur and collegiate tournaments, adding to its prestige. Whether playing for fun or competition, golfers will appreciate the thoughtfully designed holes that pay homage to some of the greatest names in the game.
Signature Hole
The 18th hole is The Monument’s crown jewel. With a dramatic downhill tee shot leading to a risk-reward approach over water to an island green, it offers a thrilling conclusion to the round.
