Dominican Republic, Caribbean
The Links Course overview
Location: La Romana, Dominican Republic | Style: Links-inspired resort inland layout | Length: 6,739 yards (approx) | Par: 71 | Designer: Pete Dye | Founded: 1975
Nestled within the luxurious confines of the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in La Romana, this 18-hole course offers a unique blend of relaxed resort golf and Pete Dye’s signature strategic design. Although it doesn’t tumble down sea cliffs like its sibling course, the famed Teeth of the Dog, the Links weaves through the resort’s verdant interior with gentle hills, inviting fairways and subtly demanding green complexes.
From its elevated putting surfaces to trickily placed bunkers, the course rewards thoughtful shot-making more than sheer length. Scenic glimpses of the Caribbean Sea appear through the terrain and bunkering, reinforcing the premium resort setting and making every round feel part of a broader travel experience.

Course highlights
- Designed by Pete Dye, one of golf’s most influential architects, celebrated here for “his genius” in contour, bunkering, and subtle strategy.
- Wide fairways on the front nine provide a comfortable introduction before the back nine tightens and challenges sharpen.
- One of the more playable Dye courses within the resort setting, making it suitable for golfers of many abilities.
- Five holes that bring water into play, with elevated greens, sculpted bunkers and lush tropical surroundings enhancing the visual and strategic experience.
- A resort setting inside Casa de Campo means golfers enjoy premium surroundings, making this course part of a broader luxury stay rather than just a round of golf.
Signature Holes
Selected as the standout, the 16th hole at the Links offers a beautiful and demanding par-3 of about 160 yards. The tee shot must fly over a pond, and the green is flanked by crescent-shaped bunkers - Dye at his best in micro-challenge form.
Clubhouse and amenities
The resort’s overall golf hub shares first-class practice facilities, including a large driving range, short-game area and putting greens linked to the Links course. The pro shop is well stocked with top-brand equipment and apparel, while golf-cart GPS systems and beverage stands along the course boost the visitor experience.
While the Links has its dedicated clubhouse, guests also enjoy the full luxury amenities of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas: fine dining, spa and wellness, marina views, beach access and upscale accommodation.
Post Round
After your round, linger in the clubhouse or resort grounds – enjoy a cocktail overlooking the course, relax in the spa, or head down to Minitas Beach Club for a sunset drink. The resort environment ensures the round of golf is just one highlight in a full luxury getaway.
