    Pwllheli Golf Club Details

    Pwllheli Golf Club introduction

After a round at Pwllheli Golf Club you can easily see why this club has such a brilliant reputation and is highly recommended for your North Wales Golf Tour.

    Pwllheli Golf Club information

    18 holes, 69 par, 6108 yards. Parkland.

Pwllheli Golf Club can be found on the south facing coastline of Cardigan Bay but don’t let the pleasant views think this will be a walk in the park especially with the prevailing winds coming off the bay resulting in many golfers opting for a careful low driven shot. The Tom Morris design was extended from 9 holes in 1909 in line with British Open Champion James Braid. The time and effort invested into the single course at Pwllheli Golf Club over its 109 year history has really shown through in high quality of links course it provides. The breathtaking views over Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia from certain holes are second to none.

We only played 9 holes due to torrential rain and high winds. The staff at the club were friendly and welcoming. The first 7 holes, the parkland holes, were well presented and in good condition. My impression of the next 2 holes which run parallel to the beach was that they were untidy and overgrown. It could be that the club want these holes to be somewhat untidy in order to create a "proper" links experience. I would like to play it again in the future when the weather is kinder.

Great course with a mixture of both inland and links style holes. A real test for each hole. Superb greens. Long par 4s that provide a real challenge for par scores!
Very friendly club house staff including club pro and green keepers!
Overall highly recommended. Top Top Top !
