Prince's Golf Course at Prince's Golf Club Details

Golf at Prince’s Golf Club and The Lodge at Prince’s

Prince’s is known to golf aficionados as the stage for Gene Sarazen’s Open Championship win in 1932. This was also the tournament where he first made use of the sand wedge, an invention for which all golfers can be eternally grateful. The course has stood the test of time and still regularly hosts major events. Prince’s is a full-service resort with great accommodation, a refurbished clubhouse and 27 holes of links golf.

Prince's Golf Course at Prince's Golf Club

    18 holes, 72 par, 7275 yards. Links.

Each of the three loops of nine offers challenges in their own right. The Dunes and Shore make up the championship 18, but the Himilayas is the member’s favourite with some of the club’s more forgiving holes, which makes a welcome change in comparison to a few of the other holes at Prince’s Golf Club. In particular, look out for the 1st hole on the Dunes golf course which is probably the most difficult on the course, with the south-westerly wind coming into play. Relax in the centrally located clubhouse which offers the ideal place to relax with a cool, refreshing beverage. Enjoy magnificent views over the golf course and the surroundings of Pegwell Bay as you enjoy a bite to eat in the restaurant which seats up to 200 diners.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A cold, sunny November day with acceptable wind was perfect for a winter links course. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Princes provided a unique golf experience, which I shall cherish forever.
A warm welcome greeted us from the staff in the pro-shop and they were kind enough to permit a change of schedule, which allowed us to play The Himalayas and Shore loops. This provided a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience in incredibly windy conditions.
Having played most of The Open venues and many other high end courses around the UK, we found The Princes an amazing design and so different than any we had played before.
The staff in the clubhouse were extremely attentive and friendly, whilst the catering and service were to the highest standards.
The course is not for the feint-hearted, however I would thoroughly recommend The Princes to any golfer who enjoys the best and toughest links golf has to offer.
Well done to all the staff who helped provide a highly memorable experience.
