What makes a golf holiday to Milan & Lake Como so special?

There’s plenty to see around Milan both on and off the course, with the Le Robinie Golf & Resort a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its Nicklaus-designed layout takes the golfer through a myriad of dips, hollows and amphitheatre greens with water lurking throughout the round.

The Bogogno Golf Resort features two superb 18-hole courses, the Bonora and Del Conte, both ranked within the Top 20 courses in the country. Situated at the food of the Monte Rosa Massif mountain range, both courses utilise the naturally undulating terrain and feature spectacular alpine scenery.

A stay closer to the lakes allows for the great reward of playing golf at Circolo Golf Villa d’Este, arguably Italy’s strongest golf course. The 1926 Peter Gannon design winds its with through trees and was known to be a particular favourite of the great Bing Crosby. So when you’re not on the course, make sure you check out all the amazing sights including the Duomo di Milano cathedral and Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an ornate 1800s arcade with all the high-end shops along it is a must-visit.

Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Lombardy, Lake Como is the perfect choice for a golf holiday whether you are looking to relax or adventure, as it has so much to offer. The city itself has a multitude of historical buildings, fine restaurants and important museums. Surrounding the lake, there is a plethora of beautiful towns and villages such as Cernobbio, Menaggio and Bellagio that you absolutely must visit.

If you travel to the eastern edge of the lake near the city of Como you can take a fantastic funicular train that scales the mountain and stops at Brunate. When you reach the top the views from this town are simply magnificent and you can see both the city of Como and the Lake in all their glory.
