    Things to see and do

San Roque is small town close to Gibraltar, but is bursting with culture and character. The cobbled streets and beautiful traditional buildings are simply charming. There are plenty of lovely little places to stop and have something to eat, serving traditional cuisine of the region. The beach is just a few metres away and the softy sand and clear water is paradise. Gibraltar is just a short drive away and is a fantastic place for a day trip. The rock of Gibraltar is clearly visible and this town by the sea has a lot in store; there is a cable car trip you can take to the top of the cliff and see the famous monkey that live here. There is a staggering choice of restaurants and pubs, and the marina is simply stunning, with views of the rock and across the bluest sea in the Mediterranean.

The staff were wonderful so helpful and so charming to deal with. The main problem is that there was no one there and no atmosphere inspite of the efforts of the management. A real shame as they tried so hard. We were well looked after and because we new the area we knew where to go out in the evenings. For someone who expected to be entertained in the hotel each evening they would be disappointed.

I feel so sorry for the staff who tried so hard

Great staff let down by tired accommodation, dreadful restaurant food and very expensive wine list, breakfast ok though. Location remote without a car but 20 euros each way gets you to some great local dining venues.

The accommodation whilst perfectly adequate did look somewhat tired and in need of refurbishment. The golf courses on the other hand were just fantastic.
