Best golf courses in Europe

A golf holiday in Europe will be an unforgettable one, but for those who have never travelled abroad to play golf before, it can often be difficult to decide where to play. We sent thousands of customers to play golf in Europe in 2017, who also left reviews of what a fantastic time they’ve had on Reevoo, our impartial customer review partner. This top ten is the ultimate guide to the best golf courses in Europe, based on the experiences of like-minded golfers.

*These ratings were taken from courses that had at least 10 reviews in the year 2017 alone, hence why ratings may differ on actual venue pages.

1. Real Club Valderrama

(Spain)

Having hosted numerous professional events, including the Ryder Cup and Spanish Open, it is no wonder Real Club Valderrama has been voted the best golf course in Europe by our customers. The Robert Trent Jones Snr. design is kept in immaculate condition all-year-long, and its narrow, tree-lined fairways and undulating, pacey greens make for a real challenge.

2. Monte Rei Golf & Country Club

(Portugal)

"Excellent course and great facilities. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely play it again."

(Steve, Oxford)

3. Finca Cortesin

(Spain)

"Outstanding. Service and staff are perfect. The course was amazing. Cannot fault it at all. Overall an unbelievable experience"

(Steve)

4. La Reserva de Sotogrande

(Spain)

"La Reserva is a great quality "upmarket" golf course and provides great service without being too pretentious."

(Richard, Kent)

5. Dom Pedro Golf Collection - The Old Course

(Portugal)

"My favourite course ever. Great condition great variety, amazing greens. Facilities and staff top notch also."

(Joe, Litchfield)

6. Dom Pedro Golf Collection - Victoria Course

(Portugal)

"Simply the best course in the area. We never waited once and neither did the group behind. We will definitely play here again."

(Steve, Birmingham)

7. Lo Romero Golf Club

(Spain)

"The course was in good condition for this time of year. I would recommend playing this course. It's a little bit more expensive but worth it."

(Michael, Garstang)

8. Royal Obidos

(Portugal)

"The design that Seve has come up with is breathtaking and a challenge for all out party (handicaps 8-20). The views out to the coast and over the new West Cliffs course are stunning."

(Iain, Wokingham)

9. Torrequebrada Golf

(Spain)

"This was our groups favourite course from the 4 we played. Excellent greeting from the course starter Martin. The course was in peak condition with almost every hole a wow hole. Highly recommended."

(Steve, Oldham)

10. Praia D'El Rey Golf & Country Club

(Portugal)

"Very friendly, excellent course as ever, playable by everyone in our group, irrespective of handicap. Seaside holes a real treat to play especially. One of our favourite courses anywhere."

(John, Sheffield)
