The Bayou Golf Club overview
Established in 1991, The Bayou Club has built itself a reputation for being one of the best private country clubs in the area, featuring a huge array of amenities. The club offers a host of pre-round facilities including a 2.5-acre two-sided grass driving range. There is also a short-game practice area featuring two large greens for pitching and chipping, plus a separate putting green. The onsite pro shop is stocked with anything you may need for your round.
Once you’re finished on 18th green, The Bayou Club has got you covered for the 19th. The onsite Bayou Club Grill is the perfect setting with spectacular views of the course. The grill serves up a range of fresh local food and drinks.
The Bayou Course overview
Designed by Tom Fazio, the course layout is defined by its use of water which comes into play on sixteen holes and its fast greens thanks to the newly installed Champion Dwarf Bermudagrass, the same grass found at Pinehurst No. 2.
The course measures 7,009-yards from the back tees and, like most Tom Fazio designs, aims to be the complete package in terms of a challenge with precise drives, strong approach shots, tricky pitches, delicate chips and focused putting all being crucial to scoring well.
Signature Holes
There are many exceptional holes on this Tom Fazio masterpiece, however, the real highlight is the par-3 16th hole. Measuring in at 216-yards it may not appear too difficult on paper, but beware, golfers must carry the full distance onto the green to avoid going in marshland which protects the front of the green. The only bail-out option available is to go long.
