Seaside Course overview
In 1929, the famed architects Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison designed the Seaside Course, in recent years Tom Fazio has also helped to update and renovate this spectacular layout.
The Seaside Course is an ocean-side links that combines a beautiful natural setting with a golf course that is both challenging and fun. Tidal creeks, salt marshes, manicured fairways, sweeping dunes and the Atlantic Ocean create a true Scottish links experience, which plays fast and firm.
Regularly ranked among the top 100 courses in the United States, Seaside is the number one course on property and along with the Plantation Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic.
Signature Holes
The 13th hole on the Sea Island’s Seaside Course is a stunner! A par-4 of 409 yards, it doglegs slightly from right to left. The tee-shot has bunkers to the right and marshland to the left. Find the fairway and you are presented with a second shot that is visually outstanding.
Enjoy views to the left of the Saint Simons Sound Waterway that comes off the Atlantic Ocean and in the distance the Sydney Lanier Bridge – it is a hole you’ll never forget.
The par-3 17th, also makes for a fantastic finishing stretch. You play your tee-shot directly towards the Saint Simons Sound to a green that is wide but with little depth. The pin position and wind speed on the day will play a big part in how you decide to tackle this challenging short hole.
