at The Wigwam
Blue Course overview
Although it only measures 6000 yards, the Blue Course at The Wigwam is no pushover. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. it is a quirky course which has been defined by its expertly placed water hazards, bunkers, and tall rough. The Blue Course is certainly a test of a golfer’s precise shot-making and short-game, quite a contrast to its much bigger sister the Gold Course.
The Blue Course has undergone a recent multi-million dollar renovation improving the course’s irrigation system and removing & reshaping the bunkers in line with Robert Trent Jones Sr’s. original design. The renovation has been met with much praise from golfers, who love the excellent condition and the fair yet fun challenge the course has become known for.
The par-3 15th hole is up there as one of the Blue Course’s most notable holes. Reminiscent of the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, the 15th here is played over a glistening blue lake to an undulating island green.
