Heritage Course, The Wigwam Resort
Red Course Overview
One of The Wigwam’s most popular golf courses, The Red is a 6852-yard, par-72 layout designed by Arizona Golf Hall of Fame member and golf course architect Robert “Red” Lawrence. The course is known for providing golfers of all abilities a suitable level of fun and challenge with its wide tree-lined fairways and generous greens, complimented perfectly by the streams and ponds which meander throughout the course. The finish is tough, as holes 15 through 18 are considered one of the toughest stretches in the state.
The Heritage Course doesn’t have a singular highlight hole, but its closing 4-holes are often considered to be one of the toughest stretches in the whole of Arizona. It finishes with a monster par-5 that requires a right-to-left ball flight off the tee, followed by another two well-played shots to reach the green and leave yourself a chance of making a birdie or par.
