The Wigwam Resort overview
One of Arizona’s best-known golf resorts, The Wigwam is an exceptional golfing facility located in Litchfield Park within the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. Tucked away in a small desert oasis of green, The Wigwam offers guests the chance to unwind and relax in the warm sun of Arizona.
The Wigwam offers 331 beautifully appointed guest casitas and suites. The onsite facilities are exceptional and perfect for both golfers and non-golfers alike. The most notable attraction must be the golf – the Gold and Blue Courses are both Robert Trent Jones Sr. designs and the Red Course is a Robert “Red” Lawrence design, and a firm favorite at Wigwam.
There are three championship golf courses onsite at The Wigwam, all of which are ideal for groups of golfers no matter their ability. Referred to as “Arizona’s Monster”, the Gold Course at The Wigwam is a signature Robert Trent Jones Sr. design which incorporates immense length at 7,345 yards from the back tees. The shorter 6,000 yard Blue Course is defined by its expertly placed water hazards, bunkers, and tall rough, valuing accuracy over distance. The Red Course is a popular favorite at 6,852 yards, giving low and high handicappers an enjoyable challenge.
The Wigwam boasts 331 beautifully appointed guest casitas and suites which come in a range of different sizes, making it the perfect accommodation option for all groups. Guests can choose from 11 different room styles, from spacious suites to modern terrace rooms with multiple bed options.
Plus, all rooms feature outstanding views of rural Arizona and the three surrounding golf courses. Guests can expect all the modern amenities making their stay as relaxing and hassle-free as possible.
Restaurant & Bars
With four different dining options to choose from, there is never a shortage of possibilities. Red’s Bar & Grill is set in a casual setting and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner overlooking the Gold and Blue golf courses. It is a great choice to unwind post-round.
Known as the heart of the resort, The Wigwam Bar has a European theme where locals and guests meet for everything from early morning coffees to late-night cocktails. Expect a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of great snack food and drinks available to choose from. The Tower Pool Bar & Grill is a great option for lunch especially if you’re spending your day by the pool. It offers a wide selection of lite bites and drinks to cover all tastes.
The signature restaurant at The Wigwam is Litchfield’s, a little more formal than the other options at the resort. Guests can choose from romantic tables on the veranda to large communal seating, perfect for groups. The restaurant supports the local community serving a selection of fresh "farm-to-table" dishes.

Golf courses at The Wigwam
One of The Wigwam’s most popular golf courses, the Red Course is a 6852 yard, par-72 layout designed by Arizona Golf Hall of Fame member and golf course architect Robert “Red” Lawrence. The course is known for providing golfers of all abilities a suitable level of fun and challenge with its wide tree-lined fairways and generous greens, complemented perfectly by the streams and ponds which meander throughout the course.
Referred to as “Arizona’s Monster”, the Gold Course at The Wigwam is a signature Robert Trent Jones Sr. design which incorporates immense length, long par-4s and par-5s, immaculate rolling fairways, elevated greens, and numerous hazards. Measuring in at 7,345 yards from the back tees, it has more than earned its nickname, with golfers praising the challenge that requires some truly good golf to score well.
Although short by modern standards, the 6000 yard Blue Course at The Wigwam remains one of the resort’s main highlights and a favorite for players of all levels. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Blue Course is characterized by its many water hazards and well-placed bunkers which place far greater importance on precise shot-making over the ability to hit the long ball.
