Pinehurst No. 8, Pinehurst Golf
North Carolina, USA
Pinehurst No. 8 course overview
As part of Pinehurst Resort’s 100th-anniversary celebration, Tom Fazio crafted Pinehurst No. 8 out of 420 acres of rolling landscape and wetlands. Opened in 1996, the course pays homage to Donald Ross and his trademark design elements while incorporating Fazio’s usual characteristics.
The par-72, 7099-yard course not only celebrates Pinehurst No. 2 but also combines elements of all of the courses at the resort into one layout. There are 58 bunkers on the course and plenty of greens with false fronts and swales.
Many golfers will enjoy the lack of residential development surrounding the course and that very few holes have parallel fairways. Pinehurst No. 8 is most certainly worth the short drive from the main resort.
