Pinehurst No. 5, Pinehurst Golf
North Carolina, USA
Pinehurst No. 5 Course overview
Pinehurst No. 5 was originally designed in 1961 by Ellis Maples, one of Donald Ross’ apprentices. Utilizing design elements that his teacher favored, Maples created a golf course that is crafted from the natural landscape with elevated greens, water carries, undulation, and doglegs. Robert Trent Jones added more modern playing elements in 1974, and the par-72 course plays a modest 6828 yards from the back tees.
