Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne Course overview
The course at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne is a par 72 and measures 7,295-yards from the back tees. It is characterized by its unique playing experience which features seven saltwater lakes, challenging bunkers, mangrove thickets, and holes overlooking the beautiful Biscayne Bay.
The course was originally designed as a partnership between Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge in 1972 with the aim being to create one of the USA’s most beautiful and challenging par 72 courses. In 1993 Von Hagge redesigned certain aspects of the course so that it incorporated more bunkers, mangroves and water throughout. The redesign was widely considered a success; however, it certainly made the course quite a lot harder!
Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne has hosted many tournaments over the years, including prestigious PGA TOUR Champions events, which has seen high-profile names like Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Don Messengale, Ray Floyd and Gary Player all grace Crandon Golf’s fairways.
