Las Vegas National Golf Club overview

Las Vegas National affectionately referred to as ‘The National’, is one of the more historic and traditional courses in the area. The 1961 Bert Stamps design features plenty of trees, well-positioned bunkers, and water hazards, and was part of the rotation of courses that made up the Las Vegas Invitational when Tiger Woods broke onto The TOUR in 1996 and recorded his first victory.

The onsite Rat Pack Bar & Grill pays homage to those times and now serves at the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame. Being only 10 minutes from the famous Las Vegas Strip and having hosted numerous LPGA and PGA TOUR events over the years, we highly recommend a trip down memory lane and visit The National.

Golf Course at Las Vegas National Golf Club

An older and more traditional golf course than many in Las Vegas, this 1961 Bert Stamps design is in a parkland setting with plentiful palm trees and two beautiful lakes that come into play on four holes.

Having hosted many LPGA and PGA TOUR events over the years, including the Tournament of Champions, Sahara Invitational, and the Las Vegas Invitational, you get a real sense of golfing quality and history when visiting. Not to mention Tiger Woods registering his first PGA TOUR win here in 1996.

The course puts particular pressure on a golfer’s course management with ball positioning being the most important factor to a successful round at Las Vegas National. The fairways meander through trees, with the greens staunchly protected by bunkers.

There have been a few improvements and redesigns over the years to ensure the course remained contemporary, however, a certain level of care was taken to ensure that designer Bert Stamps legacy and initial designs were preserved.

Signature Holes

The 329-yard Par-4 13th hole is one of the most scenic on the course, with a dogleg right and green protected by multiple bunkers and water offering the ultimate risk-reward.
