With a range of dining options onsite and spacious, comfortable rooms, guests are likely to get a ‘homely’ feel from this resort, which is ideally located just 15 minutes from Dublin Airport.
Onsite is the Jameson Golf Links which is a Bernard Langer design that opened in 1996. Although relatively unknown and not to be confused with the Portmarnock Old Links, this is a surprisingly good course that tends to exceed expectations.
Alternatively, the aforementioned and highly revered Portmarnock Old Golf Club is just a 5 minute drive away and The Island Golf Club (ranked inside the countries top 10) is located north of the resort, reachable in just 20 minutes. All rooms provide great views either of the hotel gardens, the golf course or the ocean. Guests can also expect to find satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities and well-appointed, polished bathrooms.
Restaurant & Bars
Guests will find a great choice of dining options at the resort, with three eateries and two bars. The Jameson Bar combines the two, offering a casual dining menu in the old house with its high ceiling and oak panelling.
The recently refurbished Seaview Restaurant is in a quiet corner of the property, giving guests a relaxed experience along with excellent views of the ocean through the large panoramic windows.
The “1780” is the place to go for fine dining, known for its attention to detail, and a great place for groups. Finally, let’s not forget An Sibin Pub (pronounced Shebeen), which is the little pub tucked away in a corner of the resort and can be privately rented by groups.

Guests can enjoy a small gym and spa with adjoining nail salon onsite at the resort. There is no swimming pool.
The Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links overlooks the Velvet Strand Beach to the north of Dublin in the sleepy seaside town of Portmarnock, just 5 minutes from the prominent town of Malahide.
Conveniently placed just a 15 minute drive away from Dublin Airport this is a great base for golfers looking to be situated within easy reach of Dublin whilst at the same time getting a relaxing coastal setting near several fantastic golf courses.

The primary activity at the resort is the golf course. Aside from that and the spa facilities, most activities will be off property such as exploring Dublin and hiking along the coast.
The Snug, the Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links latest addition, is very much the place for golfers, with an abundance of vintage golf trophies and clubs adorning the walls. Ideal for a pre-round coffee in the morning or a fresh pint of Guinness after the round, The Snug was made to cater for golfers, conveniently situated beside the pro-shop. A full-Irish Breakfast and a good selection of classic bar meals are also served here.
Did You Know
The Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links has a long history with the Jameson family (Jameson’s Whisky being one of Ireland’s most famous exports). The grandson of the founder of the Jameson Distillery, on Bow Street in Dublin, purchased the property in 1847 until it was subsequently sold by the Jameson family in 1945.
Jameson Golf Links
Jameson Golf Links is a wonderfully natural links course situated at the Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links. Often lost amongst the impressive array of established links courses on the Dublin coast, Jameson Golf Links is a Bernard Langer design that’s ranked top 25 in Ireland and has been surprising visitors since its opening in 1996. Green fees here are also significantly lower than some of its more celebrated neighbors, so it’s hard to beat in terms of value for money.
