Northop Golf Club

North Wales, Wales

Golf club overview

Designed by former Ryder Cup player John Jacobs in 1991, Northop County Park Golf Club played host to the Wales Open in the early nineties. With hints of its impressive past all around the estate, the course has long, meandering fairways and mature trees forcing you to keep to the fairways. An excellent driving range and practice facilities are also available alongside the faux Georgian clubhouse with a balcony overlooking the 18th green.

Just a short drive into Wales, Northop Country Park is a well designed and relatively modern course with an impressive past. The front 9-holes are a challenge, with a long uphill par-5 to start. The course really comes into its own in the back nine. Holes 11, 12 and 13 at the far perimeter of the course really stand out as the most imposing, just make sure you avoid the streams.
