Golf Courses

Two championship standard courses are just 20 minutes up the A1 at the Ramside Hall Golf Club; Prince Bishop Course and the Prince Bishop Cathedral Course. Both layouts will offer a challenge and unique views overlooking the Cathedral and ensure a fantastic setting.


In the 1940s, the building’s main function was a maternity home before it was purchased by the current owners back in 1968. It became a hotel one year later and still holds its long history thanks to the various function rooms within the building which are named after previous owners

With over 50 luxurious rooms, the Hardwick Hall Hotel provides the perfect setting for an incredible break away. The Rib Room Steakhouse offers guests a comprehensive menu featuring classic food with a contemporary edge. Only the finest local produce is used to create seasonal dishes which are cooked simply and priced sensibly. There is also a lounge and bar for those wanting a light snack accompanied by a drink, and for those interested in something more traditional, afternoon tea is served in the Boyne Restaurant overlooking fantastic views of Hardwick Park.


Just 25 minutes South of Durham, the Hardwick Hall Hotel has a stunning countryside location overlooking Serpentine Lake and has access to various small villages and towns nearby.


Located within the stunning County Durham countryside, there’s a fair share of landmarks to go and visit. Durham Town is a great place to start – in amongst the quaint pebble streets lies the spectacular Durham Cathedral. Even more history surrounds the area in the form of castles, and the National Railway Museum. For those looking for entertainment after dark, the town centre is awash with restaurants and bars.
