Overview
The three loops of nine holes at Woodspring are named the Avon, Brunel and Severn and were designed by Peter Alliss, Donald Steel, and Clive Clark respectively. All famous golfing names and they each provide the golfer with challenges that are testing, yet fair and enjoyable. Each nine has its own set of characteristics, the 2960 yard Avon is the shortest of the three and asks you to hit the ball strategically, making it more important to hit the ball accurately than a long way. The 3267 yard Brunel has some testing water features that come into play and with its characteristically small raised greens, your iron play has to be impeccable if you are to play to your handicap. The Severn is the longest nine at 3320 yards and asks for some good long tee shots if you want to score well. The greens are larger and less undulating, making it slightly easier but it's still a great test of golf.
