Arabella Golf Club Details

Golf at Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa

Voted the second best golf course in South Africa and one of the top golf courses in the Western Cape, the championship Arabella Golf Club will simply take your breath away. The layout cleverly stretches through rolling fairways, past deceptive bunkers and challenging water traps. Further to the exceptional golf courses, Arabella Golf Club also boasts a fully stocked pro shop, a driving range, chipping green, putting green, halfway house, and a beautifully appointed clubhouse.

Arabella Golf Club

18 holes, 72 par, 7019 yards. Links-style Parkland.

Set on the banks of the Bot River lagoon and fringed by indigenous fynbos trees, the Arabella Golf Course is truly unique. Both the fairways and greens are consistently in good condition. Choosing a signature hole for this course is difficult as both the 9th and 18th are hard to beat, however the par-three 17th is probably worthy of the title. Running parallel to the lagoon, anything other than a precise tee shot will leave you either in the water or on the beach. The Arabella Country Club is a real treat.

Arabella Golf Club Location

Ely, Cambridgeshire
A typical large corporate, hotel golf course. Although it lies on the banks of the Botrivier lagoon, the experience was not in the same league as the other courses we played. Our much younger playing partners chose to walk, but were exhausted at the end. Due to the undulating terrain and long, long distances between greens and tees, a buggy is almost mandatory. There was a great deal of course maintenance and remodeling going on when we played which detracted from the golfing experience.
An average corporate course in average condition. The complex is also quite isolated requiring a fair 20 minute drive to the nearest resort town of Hermanus.
