    About Casa de Campo 5*

Widely considered one of the world’s leading golf resorts, Casa de Campo is an amazing complex for games and sports enthusiasts. It is a complete resort, with a fantastic 5* hotel, a wonderful choice of private villas,  63 holes of golf created by the famous Pete Dye, tennis courts, polo fields, a private beach, and a marina where you can find a shopping centre, a yacht club and many bars and restaurants.

    Golf courses

The golf offering at Casa de Campo is nothing short of spectacular. Three Pete Dye designed golf courses make up this fantastic offering. The resort’s main attraction, Teeth of The Dog, is the top ranked course in the Caribbean and 43rd in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 courses worldwide. The Dye Fore Course features 27 holes, measuring at a monstrous 7,740 yards. It has 7 cliff-top holes lying 300 feet above the Chavón River and offers breath-taking 360 degree views.

The links, located on the interior of the property, is a beautiful inland course. Although it may not have the same “wow factor” as its 2 siblings, this is still an exceptional course by anyone standards and reminiscent of traditional British courses.

The resort is located in La Romana.  The nearest airport is La Romana International, which is located 10 minutes away; however the best option is to fly into Punta Cana International (40 minutes) where there is a direct route with British Airways from Gatwick, with a flight time of 8.5 hours. The 3rd option is Santo Domingo, which is located 45 minutes away, with connecting flights from major UK airports.

    Casa De Campo Hotel Information

A member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”, this spectacular 5* resort is renowned for its elegance, quality and diversity of activities. It has been consistently ranked as the best golf resort in the Caribbean for the past 10 years, and was awarded the “World’s Leading Golf Resort” at the World Travel Awards in 2014.

The resort is composed of 175 Elite Hotel rooms and 10 Suites, 60 classic and exclusive villas dotted around the estate from 3 to 10 bedrooms, and 64 Pete Dye Golf Lodge rooms near the golf courses. The Elite rooms at Casa de Campo hotel are located along the main lobby and pool of the venue, and are designed to the highest 5* status, with the ultimate aim for guests to be able to enjoy the peaceful and calming Dominican Republic landscapes.

There is a wide variety of villas to suit all types of clientele. The smaller classic villas we give couple more space to stretch out, families can enjoy villas with connecting rooms or en-suites. For larger families, or groups travelling together, the exclusive and ocean-front villas are the perfect fit, and provide a home-like comfort feel.

Next to the hotel and golf complex lies La Marina. Here guests can go shopping, rent a boat for deep sea fishing or enjoy the many dining and drinking options on offer. The resort also has its own private beach called Minitas beach, where patrons of the resort can relax and enjoy Al Fresco fine dining.

Within the whole estate, the resort has no less than 12 bars and restaurants on-site. You can choose to be on the “complete” supplement, which is essentially an All Inclusive program, or just book on the Bed and Breakfast basis, with more freedom to decide on-site. In the main hotel area you have the La Caña Restaurant, which serves Mediterranean cuisine, as well as the Lago Grill which specializes in traditional local Dominican dishes. Go a step further and experience The Beach Club by Le Cirque, from the World Famous Cirque restaurant in New York, located at Minitas Beach. You can also choose between authentic Italian gourmets at La Piazzatta, Spanish tapas at La Casita, or alternatively explore the room service menu which is available 24/7.

If you fancy a drink before dinner or as a digestive after hours, then Onno’s Bar is the perfect fit. The 19th hole is the perfect place to stop after a round at Casa de Campo Golf Club, or if tennis is more your sport, then La Terraza Bar overlooks the courts. Further options include Coco Mar for cocktails at the beach club, Punto & Corcho for the wine lovers in the marina, and La Cana Bar & Lounge for any refreshing mid-day drinks.

Disappointed at the attitude for charging extras. e.g is it reasonable to be charged an extra $4 for water at breakfast? Also wines are very expensive.

Not up to scratch for a 5 star resort. One out of the 5 restaurants in the all inclusive package was closed all the time. On three occasions we booked one of the other restaurants to be told a day later that it was shut. We were told the shuttle service going to two of the restaurants ran every half hour but it was every hour. Service very patchy. Pain having to use golf buggy to get anywhere. Food v good but a little repetitive. Moved rooms as our balcony had palm tree in front blocking view. Room we moved to was v nice.

    Chelmsford I love golf holidays!
What a fantastic place Casa de Campo is!
Golf is fabulous and so well organised the courses are superb and very beautiful.
Rooms a little dated but very large, comfortable and clean.
Having your own golf cart to get around is great fun.
The all inclusive is a must as the restaurants are very expensive.
All in all a great holiday and no mosquitoes, not one!
