Accommodation

Located right in the centre of England, the Belfry hotel is in the middle of 550 acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Just being in the hotel evokes memories of glorious golfing deeds from times past, a feeling heightened as you walk past the European and American team rooms from previous Ryder Cup matches. There are 324 spacious bedrooms, each with all the facilities you would expect and many with stunning views over the golf courses. There are numerous dining options, including Sam’s Bar and Grill and The Café Bar for more relaxed atmospheres. For those looking to enjoy fine dining, there are also The Atrium & the French Restaurant, and there are also numerous bars within the hotel complex. As well as the golf, the leisure facilities available to guests at the Belfry are second to none. They include indoor pool, steam room, sauna, gym, tennis courts, and there is also a range of spa treatments available (including a 2 hour, “fire and ice” bio-thermal experience). And who can forget the Bel Air, the Belfry’s very own on site nightclub, perfect for those who want to extend their break late into the night.

Brabazon (The Belfry)

Hear the word Brabazon and you instantly picture a Ryder Cup memory; Christy O’Connor’s 2 iron, the winning putts of Torrance and McGinley or the 1989 tie. The course has recently undergone some changes, notably to the 6th and 11th, which serve to further increase it’s challenge. The signature holes are undoubtedly the 10th and the 18th – stand on the 10th tee and you know you shouldn’t, but you can’t resist having a cut at the green (if Seve and Sergio can do it, why can’t you?). And will your 2 iron into the 18th green end up wet, or will you be your own Ryder Cup hero…?

Derby (The Belfry)

The Derby course is the 3rd course at the Belfry, and although it is often overshadowed by its 2 more famous siblings, it is still an enjoyable test of golf. At 6,057 yards it is perfect for golfers of all levels, and it requires you to think your way around in order to score well, especially with challenges such as the mature oak tree located right in the middle of the 5th fairway to negotiate.

PGA National (The Belfry)

Opened in 1997, this is the only PGA branded course in Engalnd. At over 7,000 yards off the championship tees, the course will provide a challenge to even the most consistent of golfers. The bunkering is probably the biggest hindrance to a good score on this course, so accuracy, both off the tee and into the greens, is key to a respectable card.
