Arden (Marriott Forest of Arden)
Golfers will all recognise the Arden course at the Forest of Arden, having watched the pros pit their wits against it at tournaments including the British Masters and the English Open. Stretching to well over 7,000 yards from the back tees, it is a tough challenge for any golfer. The first few holes can often lure players into a false sense of security, before the course hits back with some daunting holes. The 9th is an uphill par 4 of 476 yards, and the last two holes provide a memorable conclusion to your round. The 17th is a tough par 5, and the famous 18th is a par 3 with a 200-yard carry over water. European Ryder Cup hero Darren Clarke once said “If I could wrap up any course and take it with me it would be the Arden course”. Aylesford (Marriott Forest of Arden)
Shorter than its more famous sister course, the Aylesford still presents a varied and enjoyable challenge. At 5,800 yards, length is not the key to scoring well, and there are many pitfalls awaiting those who assume this to be an easy course. The beautiful setting of the course is complemented by the frequent glimpses of the local deer, which often wander around the course. The Aylesford is an enjoyable round and a perfect start to a Forest of Arden golf break, particularly as a warm up for taking on the championship Arden course.
