The magnificent Dunston Hall is set in the beauty of its own wooded parkland estate. Built in 1858 by Robert Kellet-Long, this Grade II listed country house has retained all its elegance while still offering guests an exceptional level of service. Dunston Hall discretely manages to combine all the facilities of a luxury 4* hotel with the original features of the house, many of which have been restored to their former glory. The theme of grandeur continues in the exquisite La Fontaine Restaurant and the locally renowned Carvery Restaurant, both of which offer a wide selection of fine cuisine and wines. Those looking for a slightly less formal meal can dine in Bunkers, the brasserie restaurant situated in the Clubhouse. The Leisure Club offers guests a large indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym as well as a complete range of health and beauty treatments. An all important snooker table is also available for enthusiasts in the Clubhouse bar. Furthermore, Dunston Hall is an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside, the unspoilt beaches, the Broads and the historic sites of Norwich such as the Castle and the stunning Cathedral.
De Vere Hotels enjoy an unrivalled pedigree in golf, hosting some of the top courses in the country, and Duston Hall is no exception.
Dunston Hall (De Vere Dunston Hall)
The fabulous par 71 and 6,275 yard course has been carefully designed and Cleverly contoured around the wooded parkland estate that surrounds the hotel. The course offers a varied and challenging game to golfers of all standards. The natural hazards of the terrain and the strategically placed bunkers add a certain spice to the picturesque landscape. The Par 4 16th Tee has been carved into the wooded surrounds inviting you to view the impressive course from its highest peak. A good long and straight drive will be rewarded with a medium to long iron into the slightly elevated island green. An errant drive into the trees, that line, divine and add character to this hole, will mean a careful lay up to the daunting lakes edge needs to be a well Judged shot. A precise pitch is needed if par is to be attained on this deceptively fast and slopping green.
