The greens are small, defended by bunkers and mounds, while the fairways are narrow and bordered by sandy dunes and pine trees. The front nine has a run of beautiful sea holes and Trent Jones himself considered the 3rd hole, which borders the beach, to be one of the best holes he has ever designed. It was included in his "The Ideal 18 hole Golf Course" collection. The course was classified by Golf World magazine as the 25th best course in Europe.
