Thorpeness Golf Course

18 holes, 69 par, 6290 yards. Heathland.

The course reflects the architectural brilliance of designer James Braid laid out in 1922 in 150 acres of natural heathland. In the latter part of 2010, substantial investment was made in upgrading the golf course, greatly enhancing its playability. This includes six tees, the alteration to seven holes and the addition of new bunkers, swales and hollows. The layout can give a sense of freedom and solitude. Built on quick draining, sandy soil, it is playable throughout the year without temporary greens. A testament to the high standards is the hosting of regular PGA events and recently the 2010 regional ‘Virgin Atlantic Pro-Am’. Thorpeness and Aldeburgh Golf Clubs are proud to be hosting the ‘EGU Senior Championships’ in June 2012.

Aldeburgh Golf Course

18 holes, 68 par, 6164 yards

Alderburgh Golf club is a challenging 18 hole golf course that is always maintained to the highest standards making it an excellent all year round golf course. Golfers can admire the superb views across the River Alde to Iken Church on the southern bank. Measuring 6,164 yards it is not the longest of golf courses, however there aren’t any par 5’s and the strong wind on many of holes creates an interesting challenge. This golf course will provide all that play it with an exciting and memorable game of golf.
