The Masters Trip Reviews

Reviews from some of the golfers who travelled with us to watch The US Masters in 2014 & 2015. You can follow in their footsteps and book up your dream Masters package.

“Just a note of thanks for arranging our golf break to South Carolina. The Villa at Harbour Town was very good and the golf you arranged at The Ocean Course, Heron Point, and Robert Trent Jones at Oceanfront was First Class - fantastic Courses. Finally the day at The Masters was memorable, better than I imagined. We had a great time, so thanks again for your help and advice.”

“Augusta National was just an amazing experience, even better than we thought it would be… In overall terms our itinerary worked out perfectly for us, it was fairly hectic and we crammed an awful lot in, but it never felt rushed… Jamieson Suites were basic but the perfect venue for guests going to Augusta. The whole set up there is to make it easy to get to and from Augusta, there is a shuttle bus that leaves every 15 minutes, and it also dropped us in town. Having the tickets delivered there was a real bonus, it meant we could get straight to the golf course early doors on Tuesday. Rooms were good and breakfast good as well. We ate out at the Frog Hollow Tavern on Broad Street – very highly recommended (no 1 on trip Advisor for Augusta).”

“Thank you for your help with the arrangements to the Masters. Everything went very smoothly with Georgia Sports and of course the experience of being at Augusta National with my father is something that I will treasure for a long long time.”

“All the people involved, at the hotel, the transit driver, the agent with the badges, were all very good…it is an event with its own rules and customs, and very enjoyable as a result. The staff on-course were all very welcoming to the patrons, and it was all done with great good humour.”

"We went on a trip organised by Golfbreaks USA in April 2014. It was seamlessly organised, great fun and we were exceptionally well taken care off at every venue. Golfbreaks are a very professional organisation who will set you up for the trip of a lifetime in the USA. In short, it was the best golfing week of my life. Incredible championship courses, fantastic service, top notch accommodation and fantastic dining."

What makes The Masters so special?

One of the world’s most iconic and beloved sporting events, The Augusta Masters is a golf tournament like no other. Played out every April on Alister MacKenzie’s defining course design, the players lucky enough to be invited to take part compete not for money or ranking points, but for the glory of a Major win, membership of a very special club and the right to wear the coveted Green Jacket.

Just the merest mention of Augusta National Golf Club is enough to send most golfers into a daze. From the brilliant white sand bunkers and emerald fairways to the banks of glorious azaleas behind iconic holes like 12 and 13, this former plant nursery is an explosion of colour.

And because it’s played at the same venue it’s a course that we all know intimately despite never having set foot on the hallowed turf. We can visualise every hole and the great moments that have shaped the tournament’s history - Bubba’s wedge, Tiger’s chip, Sandy’s bunker shot, Jack’s putt, right the way back to Gene Sarazen’s ‘Shot heard around the world’ . Defining shots are all etched into Masters folklore, and each year new chapters are added as the roars echo around Amen Corner.

The wait for The Masters 2016 felt longer than ever, but it certainly did not disappoint. In a year that saw three final day hole in ones, 22 eagles, 811 birdies, and six Brits inside the top 13, we were spoiled for action. So often it is said that The Masters doesn’t start until Sunday’s back nine and it has never been truer than this year.

Until Amen-Corner, 2016 felt like a carbon copy of the previous year, with Spieth looking comfortable and in total control…but perhaps it’s easy to forget just how young he really is. Needless to say, Spieth’s costly mistakes opened the door for Danny Willett who carded an impressive, bogey-free, five under final round to become the first British champion since Faldo in 1996, and only the second Englishman ever to win the prestigious tournament.

With a historic Masters for Danny Willett and British golf, the prospect of visiting the Augusta Masters 2017 as a European is greater than ever. Can Spieth bounce back and claim 2 titles in 3 years, or will Willetts win create a greater confidence amongst British Players? Whatever the result, with the exclusive Masters tickets and Masters packages that we have on offer - you could be there to see it in the flesh and experience why the Green Jacket is one of the most sought after prizes in the world of sport.
