Things to see and do
Whitstable is lovely seaside town; the harbour is star attraction here, famous for its oysters. The freshest fish is caught and sold here and you can buy some for yourself, with a fantastic selection of fresh seafood at the Whitstable Fish Market on the South Quay that attracts tourists and locals alike. Every Saturday there is a trade market that sells more than just fish; fresh meat pastries, cheese, clothes, art, jewellery and more are here for you to wander round. The streets of Whitstable are relatively narrow, but you must visit Squeeze Gut Alley – this is one of the tightest alleyways in the whole town, once thought to be used by smugglers to escape from the police.
Our view of The Marine Hotel
