It is regularly chosen for national championships, including the Scottish Amateur, Scottish Professional and in 1994 hosted the "Blue Riband" of the Amateur Calender, the "Amateur" Championship. Forres Golf Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6141 yards. Parkland.

Forres Golf Club celebrated its centenary year in 1989. The original 9 holes were designed by James Braid and in 1912 Willie Park was enlisted to extend the layout to 18 holes. The course, which has hosted the Scottish Professional Championship, is remembered mostly for its spectacular views of surrounding countryside, its tree lined fairways and the infamous 16th hole, aptly named The Pond, which provides a watery grave for many stray golf balls.

Royal Dornoch - Championship Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6514 yards. Links.

The opening hole on the Championship golf course, a simple par 4, is no indication of the joy – and trouble – to come. It is not until golfers walk over the headlands to the third tee that they get a sense of this striking golf course. Tom Watson came here and said he'd had "the most fun I've ever had on a golf course" and he's played a few!
