Doonbeg Golf Club

18 holes, 72 par, 6800 yards. Links.

Since it first opened for play in July 2002, Doonbeg’s Greg Norman-designed golf course has been garnering praise from golfers and golf writers around the world for its stunning beauty and superb design. In a relatively short space of time it has joined the “must play” list of classic Irish links golf courses, beginning with its designation as Golf Digest’s “Best New International Course, 2002.”

Set along 1.5 miles of crescent-shaped beach, Doonbeg allows views of the ocean from the green, fairway, or tee from 16 of the 18 holes. As Norman himself put it, “Nothing on this earth compares to Doonbeg.”

Dromoland Castle Golf Club

18 holes, 72 par, 6824 yards. Parkland.

The world-renowned golf architect Ron Kirby and Irish golf legend JB Carr have redesigned this 18 hole, 6,850 yard par 72 golf course to make the most of the castle estate's naturally occurring hazards and landscape. The course meanders through the lakes, marsh and woodland of the mature parkland and the gently flowing River Rine becomes a feature for three of the many beautiful holes on the course. The natural terrain of the landscape poses a considerable challenge to even the lowest handicapper with a profusion of yawning water hazards and concealed bunkers. The latest addition to the facilities at Dromoland Castle is a fully automated Indoor and Outdoor Golf Academy. This is a state of the art facility which also incorporates a practice chipping area complete with ‘Road Hole’ replica bunker and a putting green. All this added to the beautiful backdrop provided by the castle makes Dromoland a truly memorable course.

Old Course

18 holes, 72 par, 6753 yards. Links.

The main championship links at Lahinch is justifiably proud of the reputation it has gathered as a stern challenge to even the most gifted of golfers. The notorious Klondyke par five 5th hole forces the golfer to play over an intimidating dune wall to a 'blind' green.

Castle Course

18 holes, 70 par, 5653 yards. Links.

A slightly easier test than the Old Course but it still represents its own challenge. The course features an array of cleverly positioned bunkers and numerous water hazards to swallow up any stray shots. It is an entertaining round that all handicappers will enjoy.
