St Mellion International Resort 4* Details

St Mellion International Resort hotel information

After St Mellion International went through a staggering 2-year, £20 million refurbishment, it has become an outstanding 4* golf resort set in 450 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside. The hotel has a fresh, contemporary and luxurious feel to it, along with exquisite dining, spa and leisure facilities. The hotel is situated in an ideal location, just a 20 minutes’ drive to the Cornish seaside towns of Polperro and Looe.

With comfortable furnishing, and a light and spacious feel, the 80 guest rooms at St Mellion offer golfers the perfect place to retire after tackling those championship golf courses. There are a range of different rooms to choose from, such as the hotel resort bedrooms, which are light and airy with large windows letting the natural light in. Each room comes with high speed internet and flat screen TV’s, along with tea and coffee making facilities, ample storage and a safe. The superior rooms offer the same excellent facilities as the resort rooms, in addition to southerly views over the golf courses which can be admired from a private balcony. The suites offer the most striking views over both golf courses and the Tamar Valley. Each suite comes with a large lounge area, dining area and private balcony.

St Mellion offers guests a wonderful range of dining facilities. Choose from the superb a la carte restaurant “An Boesti” with its fine dining experience using locally sourced produce. Alternatively the more relaxed and informal “Bewdern Brasserie” overlooks the 18th green on the Jack Nicklaus course and serves up an array of traditional Cornish snacks and meals. The Nicklaus Bar is a perfect “19th hole” with its warm, friendly atmosphere and fantastic views across St Mellion Golf Club.

Spa information

The “Aero Leisure Spa” at St Mellion is a superb facility designed for the health and fitness fanatic, or those looking to get some time to just relax. The complex is complete with three swimming pools, gymnasium, studio with classes, Elemis Spa, Creche and kids club. The Spa offers a wide range of Elemis treatments in the soothing treatments rooms.

Things to see and do

There is plenty to do in Cornwall and the surrounding area of St Mellion. For a truly remarkable, worldwide tourist destination then we suggest that you visit the Eden Project. It may be located 45 minutes from the resort, but it is well worth the drive. If you fancy visiting somewhere of beauty a bit closer to home, then Cothele House, a National Trust venue, is an exciting Tudor House with very beautiful gardens.

For the more adventurous of you, there is also plenty to do that will get the heart racing. Located 20 minutes west is the Adrenalin Quarry, which houses the UK’s largest zip wire, Go Karting and Coasteering. Alternatively, Plymouth Ski and Snowboard Centre is approximately 20 minutes in the other direction.

Alan

Chelmsford Regular senior golfer
The hotel is a little tired in places (bathroom edges; creaking floors) but very clean. The staff are excellent - very helpful and cheerful.
Breakfast - buffet style (sometimes means the food has been under the warmer for a while) - good choice of hot and cold.
Evening meal in the brasserie was good - service a little slow even though not too busy.
Leisure facilities very good - towels provided for the pool.

Staines-upon-Thames Enthusiastic but inconsistant!
I booked this short break for 28 people from our golf society and was a little worried when I subsequently read some of the poor reviews some people had written. We played both the Kernow and Nicklaus courses and everyone thought they were both fantastic. The Kernow was not as challenging, but beautiful nonetheless, and I would have no hesitation in returning to play either of them. I can only assume that people that say not to bother with the Kernow have been living in Sawgrass for the past few years or are members at Augusta!
Our experience of the food, the facilities and the service was also good.
We have also enjoyed trips to Celtic Manor and The Belfry but everyone involved thought this was the best trip we've had.
