Perhaps Europe’s most unique golf destination

Almeria is possibly Europe’s most unique golf destination, the incredibly hot and arid climate found here has allowed the area to become known as the Arizona of Europe, with some truly fantastic designs which would be unlikely to achieve anywhere else on the continent.

The course at Valle del Este is a top Almeria golf course and despite only being opened in 2002 it has earned itself a great reputation amongst the golfing elite and wider golf community.

The course is characterised by its wide fairways and deep bunkers and with raised tees surrounded by volcanic rock, golfers are treated to a very surreal experience. The Indiana Course at Desert Springs is another top Almeria golf course.

It is notable for being Europe’s first desert golf course and is similar in design to what you would expect to see in Arizona or California. The fairways are forgiving, however, hazards exist on each hole which can easily be brought into play by one misplaced shot.

What makes a golf holiday in Costa Almeria so popular?

One of Spain’s most historic regions, Almeria has all the makings of an excellent golf holiday for you and your group.

The rugged coastline and an array of ancient villages and interesting cultural sites compliment its superb golf courses, and it’s no wonder that Almeria is one of our most popular golf holiday destinations.

There are many exceptional courses in Almeria, however, highlights include the contemporary parkland of Valle del Este, the brilliant desert-style course at La Envía Golf and US-inspired Indiana Course at Desert Springs. For spectacular mountain views, Aguilon Golf Club won't disappoint.
