Royal St George's Golf Club information

    18 holes, 70 par, 6340 yards. Links.

The golf course blends naturally into its beautiful surroundings and its challenging layout is not a traditional one as each nine is broadly circular, a loose figure of eight.Golfers playing on Royal St George’s require confidence and an accurate, solid ball strike so not to get stuck in any sticky situations. There is a well stocked pro shop that will provide you with all your golfing needs. At the end of your round you can rest assured that you can have a relaxing drink and a catch up about the days events in the charming clubhouse. Great course but generally made to feel unwelcome, like us being there was an inconvenience.

Although the course was excellent, the overall experience was let down by an indifferent welcome and no attempt was made to make the occasion memorable which has always been the case when visiting the Scottish Open courses of which we have played every one.
The course was empty but they still insisted on playing four two balls when our booking had specifically been advised as two four balls. An archaic attitude from a top course.

We were booked in for a Wednesday as a four and we later found out we should have played as two balls. We had photos taken of us on the course and we were eventually approached by a Marshall. We explained we had been booked in and believed we could play as a four. Very uncomfortable experience which put a dampener on the day. The caddie master came and apologised to us for any upset caused but my entire blame is on Golfbreaks. I contacted them whilst on the course and they tried to blame myself and was not helpful at all. Very poor and deflected and put a spin on any issue I raised. I will never use Golf breaks again or recommend them.
