Eastbourne Experienced golf travellers
Whilst the bedroom was comfortable and the room was adequately serviced, the bathroom facilities were tired and grubby. The lavatory seat wasn't fitted properly and consequently moved around and sanitary ware was stained and well passed acceptable for a 5 star hotel. The concierge service was appalling. They did not know basic details about the resort - our first afternoon (trying to jet ski) was completely wasted due to false information give us by the concierge desk and a complete lack of interest and/or service to try to remedy this. The next day we requested 2 additional umbrellas before going out and over 45 minutes later they still had not arrived despite repeated contact with the concierge desk, making us under pressure to get to our golf in time. The service at the pool bar was slow and inefficient and cocktails were unrecognisable. On arrival we waited over 20 minutes to be served with a beer which was warm. With a couple of notable exceptions (outside waiting staff at breakfast and porterage) the service was 1 star. We have stayed at the Palace twice before and standards have drastically slipped. We will not be staying there again.

Excellent accommodation for this luxurious hotel. Service a bit hit and miss, depending where you sat in the restaurants. Very good breakfasts, evening meal in Crystal always the same menu which was disappointing as we stayed for 5 days. Grill room not so good, my wife's ribs had very little meat on them and not marinated properly. The manager did not charge for this course but that's not the point. Don't bother with the wave pool etc. unless you like noise and bad behaviour, especially at the weekends.
