The 6,581 yard, par 72 championship golf course at Old Thorns Manor Hotel has been around since 1976 when Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas completed the construction of the golf course that they had designed. The rolling nature of the landscape makes idyllic golf terrain. Having been sympathetically designed for the less proficient golfer; this magnificent course still affords the better player a real challenge. Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Isao Aoki, and then Open champion Bill Rogers opened the golf course with a four- ball competition of high standards, showing the true quality of this course. The golf course is maintained to a meticulous standard with mature trees, natural springs and several lakes.
