- We were advised to play off the gold tees and for some of the higher handicap players/shorter hitters it would be extremely difficult to get the ball in play on some of the holes due to distance to fairway and very penal rough where balls could not be located. I'm personally off 16 and can hit the ball pretty well but did not complete 7 holes. There was no 2nd chance if the ball was not hit long and straight. 4 of the 6 in the party (all experienced players) were disappointed with this course selection although acknowledged the course was well set up with some good holes. I would suggest that a 13 handicapper or less could cope with the gold tees. Off the forward tees it would present a fairer challenge to others. This is no way the fault of Golfbreaks - it was our choice.
This was not the case with the two other courses we played - Southerdown and Ashburnham but both proved to be a fair challenge
