Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Accommodation

What is the difference between a twin and a double bedroom?
A twin room contains either 2 single or queen size beds. A double room consists of 1 double or king size bed. Please ensure you have requested the correct room type, as it may not be possible to change your requet at a later date.
Why have I been charged a single supplement on my booking?
Golfbreaks.com packages are based on two people sharing a room - either a twin or double room. Where there is only one person in a room, a single supplement will be charged; this varies from hotel to hotel.
What are the check in and check out times?
Each hotel specifies their check in and check out times. Your check in time, is the time that hotel guarantee that you will be able to have full use of your room. If your tee time is earlier the stated check in time, an early check in can be requested but not guaranteed. Alternatively we suggest that you leave your luggage with the hotel's reception until your room is ready. Check out is the time that you need to vacate your room. Leaving any later than that time may incur additional charges from the hotel. If you require earlier check in or late check out - please contact our Customer Service department on 0845 6782400 and we can request this to the hotel. This is not always guaranteed due to availability.
Why do some hotels require group bookings to have a set menu?
Some hotels will stipulate that certain group sizes must either pre order their evening meal or choose from a set menu. This is because the hotels like to offer a high standard of service and ensure that all guests in your group are served in a timely manner.
Does my golf break include breakfast?
The majority of bookings are on a Bed and Breakfast or Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate unless stated otherwise. Please look at your statement of account (either on your deposit confirmation or travel pack), which will confirm the details.
What is a rooming list?
It is a list of the names of the party travelling (who is travelling with who) that the hotel requires in advance, to speed up the check in process.

Golf

My confirmation only shows one tee time when there are more than 4 people in my group?
Your booking confirmation will show the first tee time that has been booked for your group, as well as the number of players in your group. The correct number of consecutive tee times will have been booked to accommodate your party size.
Can I pre-book golf buggies?
Buggies can be requested and can only be pre-booked if the required golf course has buggies available. Buggies will need to be paid for directly with the pro shop. please be aware that some courses do not allow buggies to be pre-booked and that buggy requests should be made at the point of booking to avoid disappointment.
What happens if my round of golf is cancelled due to bad weather?
Please refer to our Inclement Weather Policy.
Do I need a handicap certificate?
Most golf courses that are advertised on Golfbreaks.com will not require handicap certificates to be shown, but please ask this at the point of booking as there may be exceptions. We do advise that if you have one please take it with you.
Will we be paired up on the golf course?
Golf courses have the right to pair up players (this is very common during busy periods in Europe). This is why they tend to ask for handicap levels so that they pair people up who are of similar standards. If you wanted the tee time slot to yourself you would have to pay for 4 green fees.

Travel

What details do I need to take with me to the golf venues?

For golf breaks to the UK: for most venues, vouchers are not requird and will not be sent out to you. Please take your booking confirmation with you. Your tee times and accommodation will be reserved under your name. If, in some cases, a voucher is required, we will include it in your final email travel pack, which is sent on receipt of full payment.

For golf breaks abroad: both hotels and golf courses will request vouchers on your arrival. These can be found at the bottom of the final email travel pack.

What do I need to take when crossing on the Eurotunnel/Ferry?
You will require all the passenger's passports and your 8 digit reference number that is shown on your travel pack when the booking has been paid for and confirmed. Each car that has been booked on the Eurotunnel has its own reference number that is required to board the shuttle.

Why do some payments carry handling charges?
All handling charges are enforced by the credit card companies and not Golfbreaks.com. There are no charges for a debit card. There is a 1.5% surcharge on all credit cards and Amex cards when paying over the phone. If you pay online there is only a 1% surcharge.
Do you provide non-golfer packages?
