Great location with two excellent courses offering a good test to golfers of all abilities. Good food in restaurant and work being done to hotel to bring the rooms up to date. Overall a great value break.

Service from the staff was very good and the food better than other venues we have visited as a group. However the accommodation does need an uplift, (which is happening as contractors were working all over the place), however we has one room with no power, several with no showers and a number with no remote controls for the TV,

    Rated 4 because...
Our room was one of the newly refurbished ones and at first glance was extremely nice and beautifully furnished. Sadly however we could not get the shower to work and I ended up having to wash in ice cold water.
The bathroom sink on the other hand only spat out boiling hot water. There was no way of adjusting the heat and no cold water feed at all!!
Having highlighted this to reception, we were told we could use the shower in an adjacent room BUT having tried the shower in three of the newly refurbished rooms, the hotel staff could not get any of them to work either!
We gathered that other guests staying at the Hotel had similar problems to us.
Surely these things should have been checked before letting guests stay in these rooms.

After a 5am start, a long drive from Kent and a round of golf, we were looking forward to a hot shower so we were extremely disappointed to say the least.

By way of apology the hotel manager did offer us free pre dinner drinks and complimentary wine with our meal which was appreciated

So Décor, Food, Service excellent - Plumbing rubbish
