Prestwick Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6668 yards. Links.

The 18 hole golf course was stretched by Old Tom Morris to meet golfing standards but the traditional essence of the old course still remains with many of the original greens still in play. Natural obstacles make for a testing game of golf, including The River Pow, which flows freely through the course. A putting green and driving range are available for guests to practice their techniques in preparation for a memorable game of golf. The clubhouse underwent a major refurbishment and extension in 2001 to provide golfers with the perfect resting place after a challenging game of golf. Its character and history highlights an extensive collection of memorabilia which wonderfully illustrates the history of golf.

Royal Troon course, fairway

Portland Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6289 yards. Links.

The Portland Course, also a links, is a little more sheltered than the Old Course and, of course, shorter. The holes meander through terrain filled with gorse and broom and has a generous helping of par 3's, five in all. This is tempered however, with four par 5's, all of which are on the back nine.

Royal Troon course, undulating approach

Old Course

18 holes, 71 par, 7119 yards. Links.

The Royal Troon Old Course has held The Open Championship seven times. It is one of the great links courses in Scotland and with the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential. Players should make their scores on the outward nine, as the prevailing north-westerly wind can make the back nine extremely difficult.

Dundonald Links

18 holes, 72 par, 7300 yards. Links.

Formerly known as Southern Gailes, this superb new course sits in prime links land adjacent to Western Gailes with Glasgow Gailes to the north and Kilmarnock Brassie to the south. It has been hailed as an equal to Kingsbarns and unsurprisingly, was designed by Kyle Phillips. A classic links, it has been recognised as one of the best new courses in the world (Robb Report 2004). Phillips’ aim was to create a championship course that played and felt like an old rediscovered course and most observers believe he’s accomplished this.

Glasgow Gailes

18 holes, 71 par, 6846 yards. Links.

Founded in 1787 Glasgow Gailes is the ninth oldest golf club in the world. It is a challenging links course, consistently selected by the R&A as a qualifying venue for the Open Championship. Situated in the heart of Scotland's Ayrshire golf coast, the Willie Park design has also hosted the Scottish PGA Championship.

Western Gailes Golf Club

18 holes, 71 par, 6714 yards. Links.

Founded in 1897 and situated four miles north of Prestwick Airport on the Ayrshire Coast, Western Gailes is recognised as one of the finest and more exacting links courses in Scotland. It is an Open Qualifier for Troon and Turnberry, and has played host to the Curtis Cup, the PGA Championship and the Scottish Open.

13th hole at Machrihanish Dunes

Machrihanish Dunes

18 holes, 72 par, 7175 yards. Links.

Opened in 2009 and designed by David McLay, Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club ranks as one of the best golf courses in the country. What makes this course so truly special is that it is not really a man-made course, but born of the land. Of the 259 surrounding acres, only 7 were disturbed in the creation of the Machrhanish Dunes Golf course. The course is a 7, 175 yard 18 hole beautiful experience with no less than 6 greens at the Atlantic's edge - making this a breath-taking and picturesque course. Not only has the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club been named as one of the UK's Top 100 courses by Golf World Magazine, it also ranked in the top 30 Modern Courses in Great Britain and Ireland by Golfweek.
