Hotel very tired, obviously caters for large society groups, not good for couples. Food not good, hot buffet, meat cold, poor selection of vegetables, sweets consisted of lots of pastries and a hot dish, not appealing although other people obviously were enjoying the food judging from the piled high plates.
Breakfast next day was nothing special although again plenty of high piled plates, maybe I was expecting more as other Marriott golfing breaks we have had the food has been excellent.
The Aylesford course we played on arrival was in poor shape, the greens had recently been hollow tined and were not running true. When I booked I had not realised how close to the motorway the course was, a lot of the holes ran alongside the motorway so the noise was horrendous, not conducive to a pleasant game of golf.
The Championship Arden course was as expected, the greens running true and the fairways in good shape. The course is further away from the motorway and so was quieter and a more pleasant experience.
To sum up I would think for large societies then the Forest of Arden probably suits their requirements but for couples or small groups this is probably not the venue.
